The photo of Anne Frank is important because everyone can finally put a face to her story. Through her famous diary people could understand what it was really like back then, and having a picture to go with it helps.

The photo I chose is the First Human X-Ray 1896. I think this photo is really important because before this, they could not see inside someone's body without making an incision first; this saved time, pain and made surgeries easier. Without this photo, we would not be where we are today with technology and the process of surgeries and dealing with other injuries.

The photo of the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962 is important because President Kennedy hung it in the oval office as a way to demonstrate the threat the offensive weapons have. They are Soviet-built surface-to-air missiles in place at launch sites.

The photo of the Earth rise really catches my attention. This photo is important because it was the first photo taken of Earth from space. This picture helped a lot of people see the earth differently and help see that we need to protect it. Kekoa.L

The photo that really intrigued me was the one of the starving children. what is going on is that a people were trying to be free of Nigeria which created a war. Once these people were free Nigeria blocked there resources and children started developing a condition that makes there mussels waste away and bellies protrude and this was caused by starvation.

This photo was taken in Birmingham 1963, which was considered "the South's toughest city". This picture shows 3 black Americans being pummeled by liquid battering ram, which rallied support for the plight of the blacks. So, it helped the Civil rights movement which had been led by Martin Luther King Jr. in this town.

Promontory Point 1869 was the photo that caught my eye. All these people are celebrating and two men on either train are toasting to what was the completion of the first transcontinental railroad, connecting the Central Pacific and Union Pacific railroads. A huge accomplishment deserved a big celebration including driving a golden spike into the railroad.

I was drawn to pigeon house and barn because it looked so basic I couldn't see how it was one of the most important. It's clearly one of the most important because it started it all. Even though the photo is super fuzzy and it's of a roof if it wasn't for this picture we wouldn't have any. Jaelyn A

Biafra 1969 i think it gives an image to those hard times that people goes through as individuals and a country and the affected people are the innocents and kids about others failures. I think it is in fact, giving a message that words cant give.
