Mine was orions horse head nebula. And I really like this one because it looks so mystical to me. The multicolored background with the gleaming star in the forefront makes it have a really nice look.

The photo featured on my birthday is of the International Space Station, and its progress as more gets added on as it prepares to reach a higher orbit. The photo is taken as the astronauts were approaching and shows the ISS from top to bottom suspended in space.

On my birthday, The US Space Shuttle Endeavor approached the developing ISS (International Space Station). They then installed Italy's Raffaello, which is a Multi-Purpose Logistics Module and used a robot remote controlled arm that could move about the station. This is a normal concept now however, 18 years ago, this was a new concept.

On April 23, 2001 a space shuttle lifted off for a trip to the international space station. The goal of their trip was to build more add ons to the station including a large robotic arm called the Canadarm2 which is attached on the outside and is going to help build a bigger robotic arm. Jaelyn A

My picture for my birthday is Globular Cluster NGC 1818 (05/31/03). It appears to be a huge cluster of stars and one single star is highlighted that is isolated from the rest. I wouldn't find it so exciting. -Liv R

The cosmic pearls are a ring formed out of super nova and they look like a pinkish pearl necklace. They're bright hot spots formed to blast heat waves of material.

The picture that had been posted on my birthday was a cool photo of Saturn. It has a solid black background and the planet is a very light color, almost white with a tint of yellow. The ring around the planet is a lighter gray.

On my birthday there was the crab nebula, which was a super nova. It appears to me to be a big explosion of blue's and red's in the middle of a cluster of stars. Mia M

In my photo, the Apollo 17 mission, astronauts took a panorama of the surface of the moon to get an idea of what it would be like to anyone who stood on the moon. There are rocks, hills, craters, and the lunar rover. The sky is completely black, except on the left you can see the sun except on the left portion of the panorama, the sun shines brightly.

The astronomy picture the day of my birthday three years ago was titled "Firefly Trails and the Summer Milky Way". The picture is near a lake or some from of body of water and in the sky the Milky Way is very visible. Also there are streaks of light, which are the fireflies.

Mine was The Jupiter, Moons and Bees. The picture was taken at night and in the lower right corner You could see a bright star-looking figure but that is Jupiter and if you look closely Jupiters moons are surrounding it covering its full light. And there are a "swarm" of stars surrounding it. There are clouds that are lightly covering the cresent moon in the top left corner. -Sadie H.
